Can I migrate data from Excel, Bexio, Abacus or Banana Accounting?

Yes. During the current promotion, our technicians migrate your historical data free of charge: chart of accounts, open items and entries where available. We support Excel, Bexio, Abacus (XML/CSV), Banana (AC2/CSV) and standard exports (CAMT.053, ISO 20022). You don't have to rebuild your books manually.

How long does migration take?

For most sole proprietorships and SMEs, less than an hour once your export is ready. Chart of accounts import takes a few minutes; historical entries can be imported in batch. For complex histories, plan 2–4 hours with our assisted migration — included in the offer.

Question 3

Is my data safe? Where is it stored?

Accepted Answer

Your data is stored exclusively in Switzerland, in certified Tier IV data centres in Zurich and Geneva. It never leaves Swiss territory. AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, 2FA on every account. Each document is sealed with a cryptographic hash that certifies integrity over time.

Is Accountex compliant with the nLPD?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Accountex complies with the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (nLPD, in force since 1 September 2023) and the GDPR. A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available on request. Contact privacy@accountex.ch.

How does Accountex handle VAT and FTA returns?

Accepted Answer

All current Swiss VAT rates are supported: 8.1% (standard), 2.6% (accommodation) and 3.8% (reduced). Quarterly FTA returns (or semi-annual where applicable) are generated in submission-ready format. Input tax, output tax and your VAT balance update in real time in the dashboard.

Yes. The calculator above uses up-to-date rates for all 26 cantons, including municipal taxes where applicable. Enter income, civil status, children, Pillar 3a contributions and your canton for an indicative estimate of federal, cantonal and municipal tax — useful before year-end, with no signup required.

How do OCR and AI work on Swiss invoices?

Photograph or upload invoices (JPEG, PNG, PDF). OCR extracts vendor, amount, date, VAT code and IBAN with over 98% accuracy on typical Swiss documents. AI proposes a balanced journal entry — you review and approve in one click. Native QR-invoice recognition is included.

Can I use Accountex on my smartphone?

Yes. The iOS and Android app captures documents with the camera and syncs in real time with the web. OCR can queue offline and process when connectivity returns. The web interface is fully responsive on tablet too.

CHF 5.95/month, billed annually (CHF 71.40/year). One flat price for the full software: accounting, FTA VAT, Swiss QR-invoices, OCR and AI document processing, reports and updates. No per-user or per-mandate surcharges, no paid add-ons for core compliance features.
